—Cave of the Painter's Mind— Mark Hillberry’s wife is running away from him, and at the same time he’s being followed by a man in a black suit. Raining and raining. It’s always raining in Mark’s world. But what is it, exactly? What’s making him turn mad? Is it the déjà vu he keeps experiencing, the déjà vu that’s slowly unraveling the fabric of his sanity? Are his paintings turning him mad—paintings that appear to connect to his future and past? Or…maybe his old lover Ann is the reason for all his madness, the woman that stole his heart and ran far away with it. And why is everyone running away from him? Who is the man in the black suit? Why does he keep experiencing déjà vu? Why is it always raining? Why do his paintings seem to connect to his future and past? Maybe…he can find the answers. Maybe...just maybe…the answers lie…in the Cave of the Painter’s Mind. —Shadows of a Headstone— Derk Harrison finds himself selling Gravestones for the small town of Granger, Nebraska—a town that has more deaths than births, a town that has more cemeteries than churches. Haunted by dark, inner voices and by the strange, haunted town he vowed to leave in the past, Derk finds himself reunited with his fearful mother and his fanatical best friend who never ceases to tell a lie. A mystery and brooding tale—Shadows of a Headstone chronicles a man’s encounter with Death; it chronicles a man’s fight for sanity and acceptance in a place where madness walks upright and has no fear of the darkness. |
